Cochlostoma septemspirale from southern Germany


Cochlostoma septemspirale (Razoumowsky, 1789) is the only species of Cochlostomatidae in Germany. This species is distributed mainly in southern Europe. In Bavaria it is listed as 'extremely rare' (RL-D 2012). It can be found only sporadically along the river Donau where lives on exposed limestone, feeding on detritus.
