Gibbula delgadensis from the Azores

There are only few species of Trochidae living in the shallow waters of the Azores: the well-known and widely distributed Gibbula magus, the endemic Calliostoma lividum and Jujubinus pseudogravinae. Especially interesting is a small Gibbula named delgadensis by Nordsieck in 1982. Sometimes, the shells show spectacular red colours. The pictured specimen measures about 4 mm (LDK molluscan collection). It is now also index picture at gastropods.com.
